Terms of Service

In this Terms of Service:

"we", "us" and "our" refer to us, The Biltong Merchant Ltd.
"you" and "your" refer to you, the customer.


PAYMENT

  1. Payment for the total amount of goods ordered can be done by debit or credit card and PayPal.
  2. By submitting your credit/debit card details, you warrant that you are authorised to make payment with the specific card and that sufficient funds are available for the order placed.


DELIVERY

  1. Orders are delivered via couriers to the specified address given upon ordering.
  2. Our products are made by individual artisan businesses and delivered directly from the producer to you, to ensure freshness and prevent unnecessary handling & storage. As a result, delivery charges are per supplier, rather than per order. If you order items from multiple suppliers at the same time, you will see the individual delivery charges added up at Checkout.
  3. We will provide a delivery tracking number for each order. Please let the courier know if you need a safe place, or other instruction.
  4. Although every effort will be made to deliver goods as ordered within 3-5 days after ordering, we cannot accept responsibility for delays or missed deliveries due to circumstances beyond our control.
  5. You will be liable for any redelivery charges if the courier is unable to deliver to the specified address if no one is available to receive the goods.
  6. Any special requests for delivery service should be noted with your order.


ORDERS

  1. We will always try to dispatch orders within 48 hours of ordering, excluding orders made on weekends, which may be dispatched on a Tuesday and public holidays which may be dispatched 2 days thereafter.
  2. Any orders received after 12:00pm will be dispatched the following day Monday -Thursday. Orders received after 12:00pm Friday will be dispatched the following Monday.
  3. If there is likely to be a delay in dispatching your order for any reason, we will let you know as quickly as possible and keep you updated on the progress of the order.
  4. Orders are subject to acceptance by us and our suppliers and to the availability of goods.


PRICES

  1. Prices are as displayed on our website and may be subject to change without notice.
  2. Prices displayed are inclusive of tax where appropriate.

CLAIMS

    1. Claims can be made by telephone, or by email to us at the address on our website.
    2. Claims or orders sent via couriers will not be considered if you sign for the goods as received in good condition.
    3. All goods must be counted upon receipt. Any breakages or shortages must be indicated on the delivery note at the time of delivery.
    4. All goods need to be checked within 24 hours after receipt.
    5. Any claim in respect of the above should be made by telephone or email to us within 48 hours of the delivery. 
    6. Credit may not be given for goods returned without prior agreement from us. We reserve the right to recover carriage and handling costs where unauthorised returns are made.
    7. If the above conditions are not strictly adhered to, no claims will be considered.
    8. No credit or refund will be given for any goods ordered in error by the customer.
    9. No credit or refund will be given for any losses due to the incorrect storage or merchandising by the customer, of any goods supplied by us.

RETURNS

  1. We want you to be happy with your purchases with us and will endeavour to correct any errors or failings on our part quickly and without prejudice.

We have included a list of ingredients and nutritional information provided by the producer for each of their products, wherever possible. To see this information, click on the product “View more” button when shopping.

Whilst every effort has been made to ensure allergens and potential allergens are listed on products for sale on The Biltong Merchant website, we cannot be held responsible for errors and omissions supplied by third parties for publication on The Biltong Merchant marketplace.

If you have a specific question or concern, you can get in touch with us before you order and we will endeavour to find the answer for you.

Please do not order any product if you’re not 100% sure of your allergy status: The Biltong Merchant cannot be held responsible for the purchasing decisions of our customers.
