When The Biltong Merchant was “born” at the beginning of this year, we could never have imagined how 2020 would end up affecting all our lives, throwing up so many challenges for businesses and customers alike.
Zoom calls with tech support, Covid-safe supplier meetings and long-distance marketing brainstorms all became the norm this year. Markets were cancelled left, right and centre, and as for all those planned music and sports events - well…!
Anyway, we can’t get over how many of you have supported us as a new business and bought biltong online from our website. We are so very grateful for everyone’s help and belief in us and proud of the quality of biltong products we've been able to offer. True - it’s been a bit shaky at times, especially as we’ve had to learn so much “technical stuff” in a short space of time! However, the Chief Biltong Merchant never lets anything beat him and we were up and running by the end of the summer.
There’s so much more to come in 2021 - we’re excited to have several new biltong suppliers joining us soon and we hope to be able to bring a bit of The Biltong Merchant flavour to a wider audience, with biltong recipes and producers' inspirational stories - so watch this space!
In the meantime, please all just stay safe and treasure your loved ones over the holiday period. Even if we can’t be together in person, we can project positivity and strength to help those suffering the most. Have as peaceful and happy a time as you can and we’ll see you all in the New Year. Let’s look forward to a better, brighter 2021 and say … Bring it on!
